My garden has a large number of daffodils in it, and
yesterday’s blizzard flattened them. I thought the daffs were all done for this
year. Not so; most of them are already standing proud again now that the wind’s
eased. I find it heartening that something as fragile as a daffodil flower can
survive the onslaught of heavy snow being driven by a 40mph wind.
That’s what life’s like, though, isn’t it? It keeps knocking
you down and you keep getting up again. And then you go on finding nice bits
while you’re on your feet.
