Bookends.

Paul Simon was twenty six or thereabouts when he wrote this song:

Time it was
And what a time it was
It was

A time of innocence
A time of consequences

Long ago it must be
I have a photograph

Preserve your memories
They’re all that’s left you

How did he know?

And I so love that habit Americans have of repeating the affirmative. 'It was.' I've taken to doing it myself these days. I learned it from Zoe. Thank you, Zoe, wherever you are.
