I swear Venus is either growing or coming closer. She was so
big and brilliant tonight – utterly scintillating. I stood for ages on the dark
lane, staring at her and feeling almost spellbound.

The Lady Bella’s house also looked uncommonly bright
tonight. I discovered it was because there was an exterior light on, outside
the kitchen door. I’ve never seen that before.

And according to Google stats, my blog has been getting an
unusual frequency of visits today – on average about one every ten minutes. It’s
odd that I should be getting so many visits on a day when I’m making a lot of
insubstantial posts. I expect it has something to do with whatever Mercury is up to.
