Here’s a thought for the day:
In Britain,
if a man proposes to a woman and then goes back on his word, he can be sued for
breach of promise. (I expect it works the other way round, too, thanks to Mrs
P.)
But suppose you do it on April 1st. Could a chap
get away with it if he said in court:
‘But it was April Fools Day, m’lud. She should have known I
was only joking.’
