There was a pub near to where I used to live as a kid called ‘The
Quiet Woman.’ At the front of the building was a statue of a woman carrying her
head underneath her arm. I seem to know a lot of headless women at the moment.

And what are those Chinese (presumably) characters all about? I swear you're a world leader in enigmatic shorthand.
I believe i've read a mention of that pub in something before... a novel... but i can't remember which.
I think there might be a few in England, Andrea. The one I knew was at a place called Tarporley in Cheshire.
