Knowing the Mind of Another.

Some people have unconventional but highly acute insecurities and sensibilities; and because they’re unconventional, it doesn’t occur to us to suspect that they might be there. And so we say things in complete innocence, and from a position of ignorance, which trigger those insecurities and offend those sensibilities. At that point they run away from us, and we wonder why.
