How many times did I hear this:
‘I want to have an affair with you, but I love my husband
and won’t do anything to hurt him. So I’ll have an affair with you as long as
my husband never knows about it. That way he won't get hurt.’
And I remember myself saying:
‘You're missing the point. If you love your husband, you mustn’t have an affair with
me. Betrayal is betrayal whether he knows about it or not.’
That was in the days when my standards were very low. They’re much higher
now.
