Those who read A
Fairytale of Philadelphia over at the other blog might be interested to
know that the ending was a lie. Oh, sure, Joseph went back to the airport that
day, but he never actually left. Poor guy is still sitting in the departure
lounge even as I write – seems the magnetic attraction of dear old Philly is
just too strong.
And what keeps tugging at him is the cord that connects him
to the place. He suffers from the frightening conviction that it won’t break, you
see, so if he tries to fly away the cord will simply tighten and become all the
more painful. And now he’s sitting there awaiting advice from a higher plane
(!) because he doesn’t know whether he’s right or not, what the hell is going
on, and what he should do about it.
And those who didn’t read A Fairytale of Philadelphia over at the other blog will find this
post an enigmatic, and therefore pointless, load of old hokum. Sorry.
