Mostly Sarah and a Lesson.

While I’m feeling nervous, I thought it best to attempt a note of constructive levity, so I considered the question ‘What more could any young woman need?’ and came up with...

A pretty smile
A cultured tone
A cocker spaniel
And a BlackBerry phone

Made.

Do you know, I’m becoming so forgetful these days. Every night after dark I take a walk along Mill Lane, and every night I get as far as the abode of M’Lady S and remember:

‘Shit! I forgot the bloody ladder again.’

Knowing my luck, I’d probably climb in the wrong window, only to find Sarah’s (older) sister propped up with pillows and bolsters, wearing a linen bonnet and granny shawl, and reading Jane Austen or something. If I did, I swear she would look at me with that same bemused expression.

‘What the devil is that? Where does it come from? Where does it go?’

Ah well, got to indulge the odd fantasy now and then, haven’t you? Especially when there’s nothing else available.

This is interesting, honest. I discovered while sitting in the bath tonight that if you wiggle your feet from side to side really quickly, eventually it feels like you’re wearing socks. It’s the oddest sensation. Life never stops teaching you important lessons, does it?

OK, back to feeling nervous. I have alcohol available.
