One of the lesser problems I have at this time of year is
that the low sun at lunchtime shines through my office window and onto the
computer screen. It means I have to close each of the two curtains in sequence,
and I so dislike shutting out the sunlight.
Today, however, after I’d booted up, I watched the screen
for a while as the brightness passed across it. It happens just about fast
enough to pick up the movement visually, and as more and more of the desktop became
visible, it struck me that I was effectively watching the earth rotate. That
was neat.
