I’m a fan of the suffragettes. Emily Davison is one of my
favourite heroines. But...
How many women these days understand the power they have to
control a man’s inner destiny? To set him among the stars or scrub his face in
the mire with no more than a skip, a sly smile or a seductive raising of an
eyebrow? How many have squandered their strength in pursuit of short sighted
feminist dogma that is grindingly prosaic and in thrall to superficial values?
Maybe this is just the Romantic talking. Whatever else, it’s
just a thought.
