I’m curious to know why she signs her post comments with a ‘Y.’
I’ve asked her, but she declined a reply (pity that rhymes, it sounds clumsy in
prose.) It’s possible that she’s miffed with me, since I seem to be attracting
disapprobation these days, in which case there wouldn’t be any point in me
speculating, would there?

Maybe she signs with a Y because you mention her here often and she would like to comment without others knowing that it was her. Now i guess she'll have to use an N or an O or something. :o)
But I don't see any reason to sign at all. I always know who it is anyway.
Oh, right. Hehe. I didn't think of that.
I meant without other people besides yourself knowing.
