It’s estimated that 1.5 million people died during the years
of civil war between the state of Sudan
and the southern separatists. The south eventually became an independent state,
and now the two countries are on the brink of war again.
In 1976, Eric Bogle wrote a song about a nineteen year old who
died during the First World War. This is an excerpt:
Did you really believe them when they told you "The Cause?"
