Remember the post Flat
from last night? Well, the book arrived today, and so did notification that the
magazine is finally released (the story of mine that’s in there was accepted on
14th November 2010,
but in fairness they did have problems with the Missouri
floods earlier this year.) Anybody interested can find it here. It’s in the
contract that I can’t post it to the stories blog for three months after
publication, and I’m a man of my word so March it will be.
So, that’s two out of four. Maybe that flapping noise I can
hear is the first stirrings of a fair wind rustling the mainsail. (I must stop
using nautical references as though I know what I’m talking about. I’ve never
seen a mainsail, although I have crewed in sailing whaler races off the coast
of Devon, and also in a rowing regatta in the roads of Halifax
harbour, Nova Scotia. Sounds
impressive, doesn’t it? It wasn’t, really. I didn’t have a choice.)
Two down and two to go, then. I have a feeling that the
e-mail will be a long time coming, and the visit from Dorothy and Dodo remains a
faraway fantasy. We’ll see.
