Being a lifelong fan of Bob Dylan’s early music, I thought it would
be fun to write an accountant’s version of Maggie’s Farm. Of course, it’ll only
scan properly if you’re well familiar with the original. First verse:
I ain’t gonna work on Maggie’s books no more
No I ain’t gonna work on Maggie’s books no more
She goes out on the town
For some drink and crystal heaven
And when she comes home
She makes two and two make seven
It’s a shame the mess she makes upon the floor
No I ain’t gonna work on Maggie’s books no more
To be continued.
