Apart from the phone call and e-mail noted earlier, today
seemed pretty uneventful one way and another. But then I remembered a little
news item I’d read. The headline ran:
Patient Set Alight in
Theatre.
It seems that some poor person was undergoing an operation,
when the fluid they were using to clean the wound caught fire. The report didn’t
say how it happened – maybe the surgeon dropped his cigarette, or something.
The hospital issued a statement in which they said they were ‘very sorry.’ Oh
well, no harm done. Well, actually...
