A review into last summer’s riots in Britain
has put the blame firmly on social problems and a lack of confidence in the
police. The government has reluctantly admitted that their contemporary
reaction to the event was unreasonably narrow.
What did I say at the time?
‘Riots don’t happen in a contented society.’
Meanwhile, some of the rioters are serving prison sentences
longer than some paedophiles get. I would have no hesitation in adding to the
above:
Lack of confidence in
the government.
