Fog, but no Phantoms.

It’s turned much colder here. The temperature was well below freezing when I went for a walk and there was a heavy mist forming, but only at ground level. The tops of the trees were stark and clear, and the moonless sky was awash with its bounty of stars.

It’s odd seeing the space between the hedgerows filled with mist – rendered a pale blue by the light of the new LED torch which I bought today – while all above is sharp and unclouded. It appears to be drifting in from an unknown source and you wonder what it might contain, what might be waiting for you. Nothing said ‘boo.’
