A Marker.

And on the subject of old men, the woman who cuts my hair was telling me today that she’s been seeking advice about the menopause, and my neighbour occasionally talks about her bowel problem. It strikes me that a chap must accept he’s getting on a bit when women talk to him about menopausal and bowel issues. I assume they think he’s past caring.

Or you're just an exceptional person to talk to

Thank you, Wendy, but I don't think so - not in this case, anyway.

How do you respond to this?

Laugh and feel sorry for me? Poor potty training made me ill-fitted to entertain any mention of bowels. I can just about handle the menopause.

No, i mean how do/did YOU respond when someone is/was telling you about their bowels or menopause. Someone was actually telling me about her menopause day before yesterday and even though we're both women i didn't really know what to say to her over-sharing of information i did not care to hear. Its an awkward subject for sure, hehe.

These two women didn't go into too much detail, so I got away with the odd 'oh' and 'really?'
