Nigel the mechanic was telling me recently that old diesel
engines can be run on cooking oil, and it’s even legal (despite the loss of
duty) as long as you declare it and keep a mileage log. Some people buy up used
oil from chip shops, apparently, thereby getting mega-cheap fuel. And that’s why,
says Nigel, when you’re passed by an old, diesel-engined vehicle in the street,
you might notice that it smells of chips.
Don’t you learn some interesting facts from the most
unlikely sources?
And talking of interesting facts, I just read that a chef in
Belfast has been banned from the
city for biting a policewoman’s leg and spitting at some Orange Order
supporters. The judge said his actions were ‘deplorable.’ Some people just can’t
see the funny side of things, can they?

My brother in law does the same, not bite legs but uses veggie oil. Sometimes the car smells of chips and at others samosas. Cheeky arses requesting people to keep a mileage log and declare it, but there you go. None of their beeswax I say!
Maybe the chef was hungry but she didn't taste very nice, have they thought of that ;)
Maybe he was just seeking a new recipe to keep his cutomers happy.
