Falling Pictures.

Shortly after I woke up this morning I heard a sudden scraping sound followed by a loud bang. I lifted my head from the pillow to discover that a picture had fallen off the wall – Alphonse Mucha’s Girl’s Head with a Laurel Twig. There’s something simple, young and charming about it, and it’s long been one of my favourites.

I didn’t like the fact that it had fallen off the wall. There’s something portentous about pictures falling off walls. So what is the universe trying to tell me now? And why can’t it just send me an e-mail or something?

Let’s not forget, though, that portentous isn’t necessarily bad.

Hello,
Alphonse Mucha.
Girl’s Head with a Laurel Twig.

I've spent endless hours searching the web for a copy of this print.
Do you have any information as to where I might find a copy please ?

Thanks, David

This post generated quite a bit of interest, and I subsequently discovered that the picture is hard to find. There appears to be no image of it on the web.

Apparently, a commercial print run was made in the early 90's, and I got mine from a shop specialising in art prints in the mid 90's. If you have access to one, it would be worth checking whether it's still available in a catalogue. Failing that, I suppose it means searching online print specialists or maybe ebay.

Sorry I can't be of any help. My copy is the only one I've ever seen.

Hello.
I have a print of the 'Girls' Head with Laurel Twig' 1935.
I didn't imagine that anyone else would like it.

Judging by its apparent rarity, it seems the makers of art prints don't think that many people will like it either. Don't know why; I find it utterly charming.

Unfortunately I find the pic to be a little lacking in boldness and much prefer things that 'scream' a statement. If I had a way to contact the person who left the first comment I would be interested to come to an arrangement with them!
Meanwhile the 'Girl with the Twig' hangs with a 'whisper'!!

I hope the first commenter ticked the 'notify me' button, and then you can come to an arrangement through my blog.

Personally, I like some things to be bold and some to be subtle.
