Having just watched a documentary about how the unconscious
mind dictates most of what we do (actually, I fell asleep in the middle of it
because I’d worked out years ago much of what they were saying,) I want to know
what the difference is between the unconscious and subconscious minds. I read
something about it once, but I don’t remember what it said. And I can’t be
bothered to look it up again.
Any psychologists out there?

Well, JJ, you know "Dr. Donovan" couldn't refuse this.
The more complex answer is that Freud's peeps refer to the unconscious mind. He even goes so far as to have a "preconscious mind" that's a little much for me.
Jung and his gang refer to the subconscious mind.
I understand it to mean that one level is easier for us to access, which is the subconscious-personal experiences. The more difficult one to get to is the unconscious-collective emotions.
Oh, I miss my dear professor, Jack.
Be Well!
And there was me, thinking the unconscious mind is the one that activates when you're rat arsed and encourages misbehaviour.
Thank you, Bree. I did expect your input. Should I take it then that memory is stored in the subconscious?
There was this tap, tap, tapping on the window, and d'you know who it was? Bloody Melanie Ashton! I said 'Melanie, give over this minute or I'll fetch the bloody broom handle.'
Wiping the tears from my eyes, I shall not give over and well you know it!!
Thanks for the giggles.
I'm trying to keep on the right side of you, Mel. Heaven knows what happens to people who don't!
