Is There Anybody There?

Where is everybody? Nobody’s talking to me, nobody’s making blog posts, and Feedjit’s down for maintenance so I can’t see whether any of my nearest and dearest are even visiting.

On top of that it’s bloody cold, my internet’s running slow and I’ve got a toothache. And the sniffles.

Woe is me. My way of life is fallen into the sear, the yellow leaf. I’m feeling sorry for myself. And why is it that when my night storage heater cuts in at 1 am, the room gets colder? There’s something definitely up with reality today.

I said to somebody yesterday ‘Don’t you just appreciate summer in weather like this?’ That’s the problem, isn’t it? We have this stupid tendency to appreciate things most when we haven’t got them. You humans are a funny lot!

Life! One of these days I'm going to get one.

I think you can see from the flag counter that I have been around for a while. Heard from T.V news that this winter is the coldest one in 100 years. Take very goo care of yourself. It's a bit chilly here. I caught a long cold too. Luckily, I have no headache and fever.

I mean the winter in UK.

Thank you, Mei-shan. No cold, thankfully. Just snuffling from sitting in a cold office. I think the whole of northern Europe moved 500 miles north in November. Poland has had a lot deaths from exposure.

I thought my winter in Ireland was an odd one, it's usually not so frigid and icy, but at this rate it seems it's going to be the new standard.

And odd even more, I seem to be getting fonder and fonder of winter as I get older. Most people seem to crave the warmth (see also: the state of Florida, otherwise known as the country's retirement center), but every summer I'm getting less and less tolerant of the heat and sun. My glow-in-the-dark skin is in agreement with me on this.

I'm in the middle on this one. I've never been a sun worshipper - don't understand how people sit out in it for hours. At the same time, I've never really tolerated cold all that well. Spring is my favourite time.

And Merc. retro strikes again! We're all still out here in blogland, but I've been feeling like a hermit these last few days, not reading other blogs, etc...But I promise I won't desert you. And you forgot that not only is tomorrow a incredible stellar experience but also that Merc. retro is going to be doubly interesting with all the eclipse, solstice etc...Buckle your seatbelt, it's going to be a bumpy road, my friend. I'll raise a glass of cider over the net together with you.

Thank you, Wendy. I had some news today which means my life is going to change soon. I'll be getting a new neighbour, and because of the layout of the land here, it means that life is likely to be less idyllic. I know; nothing lasts forever.

Oh, what type of neighbor, Jeff? I know some good "neigbor" spells, I mean not to make them "good" but to help deal with unpleasant neighbors. Let me know if you want one.

Don't know yet, Wendy. It's just that my disabled neighbour is in hospital following a serious heart attack and isn't likely to be coming back here. I'm just so protective of my space, unfortunately. Having other people's vehicles blocking me in, other people using the garden that I've come to think of as my own, and other people's noise coming through the walls fills me with dread. I've been spoiled having Fred next door.
