Built In Imperfection?

For some reason, a favourite line from a popular song kept occurring to me today. It comes from the Don McLean classic Starry Starry Night.

I don’t want to write a long and probably turgid post about the possible meaning that might be attached to it. I’d prefer to just throw it out to be pondered on, if anybody feels so inclined.

This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you.

I wonder whether there might be a profound truth wrapped up in that line.
