I’ve noticed that a number of insurance companies
try to sell life insurance by using the ‘shame’ tactic. They show pictures of
kids saying things like ‘I can’t believe you don’t have life insurance, dad’
and ‘the best gift you could give me is life insurance.’ Hateful. Utterly
hateful.
It’s bad enough having advertisers trying to
manipulate me into wanting something by making it ‘irresistible,’ but trying to
get me to buy their product by making me feel guilty for not having it is
simply unacceptable.
I’m not falling for it. Nobody should fall for it.
I strongly recommend that everybody refuse to buy insurance from companies
which use that tactic. They don’t deserve your business.
