Delirium Tremens.

The title is taken from a Christy Moore song about the perils of drinking heavily before bed. It's a hell of a lot better than my ditty, but we can only do our best, can't we?

I took a trip to Blackpool
On a sunny summer’s day
I met me there
A maiden fair
Who came from old Cathay

We rode upon the dodgems
And we paddled in the sea
With much aplomb
We strolled the prom
And ate cream cakes for tea

But then the lady vanished
And through darkest mist I fell
To wake in bed
With throbbing head
And feeling most unwell

I haven’t been to Blackpool
Since the lady shared my cream
I fear I’ll see
Her taking tea
In someone else’s dream
