Falling Standards at the BBC.

The BBC used to be renowned for the quality of its journalism, so how about this?

The BBC runs Ceefax, the television text service on British terrestrial TV. Their report on the inquest of Rodney King contains the following two statements:

‘Police pulled King from the bottom of his swimming pool. His fiancĂ©e had attempted to revive him before the authorities arrived.’

Can anybody tell me how they can both possibly be true? This isn’t an isolated incident. Yesterday a report on the cricket series between England and Australia contained a similar error. They happen nearly every day.
