There was a little news report about scientists growing
plants from 300,000-year-old seeds ‘that had been buried in the permafrost by
squirrels.’ Three questions:
How do they know it was squirrels that buried them?
How does anything bury anything in permafrost?
Does this cast doubt on the ‘use by’ date on seed packets?
