This made me giggle as much as the "Lets eat Granny" punctuation drive.
Same stable as eats shoots and leaves, presumably.

Unfortunately i've seen people writing on paper the way they do in text and online. I once received a Christmas card in which the sender apologized for sending it 'la8' or something like that.
The scary thing for me is the way my mom has started using teenage text speak in her texts to me. bleh.
Thankfully, I've never had any texts from teenagers, so I never learned the language. My texts are written as I would write a letter.
