Tomorrow is the big day in my TV region. Tomorrow the
analogue signal gets switched off and we become 100% digital. End of an era;
the king is dead; long live the king; a new and better era dawns. I fixed up a
set top box today to convert my old TV to digital so I could partake of all the
wonders this bright new world has to offer.
Yeah, right. I spent some time flicking through all the new
channels at my disposal, mouth watering as you might imagine (!) Mostly it was
copies of what was on other channels, a load of shopping rubbish and a bit of
free porn.
Did I say I love this culture?

I remember switching to digital. It was cool for us mostly because we got good cable for the first time, so I could Disney channel. Of course, after about two episodes of That's so Raven I got bored of it and now I use it to watch Criminal Minds and stuff like that. I have to say, it's kind of useless though, because you can get most shows online anyway.
I only switched to digital because they were turning off the analogue signal. The two have been run in tandem for several years, but I couldn't be bothered because I watch about two hours of TV on a good week. Some weeks I don't watch any. But winter is approaching, and it's dark a lot in the winter.
