Letting Slip the Dogs of War.

A news report I just read says:

A public inquiry has found that an innocent Iraqi civilian died after suffering an "appalling episode of serious, gratuitous violence" while in British Army custody.

This story is as old as humanity. This kind of behaviour is an inevitable side effect of war, and while I’m not suggesting that the soldiers involved should not be brought to account, I am stating that ultimate responsibility lies with the politicians in smart suits who start wars.
