Another One of Those Days.

It’s been a strangely unreal sort of day today. I overslept badly and rose to find a fluttering electric supply that soon went into complete outage. The mood was sombre and the house dark, courtesy of a battleship grey sky and the first heavy, incessant rain we’ve had for ages. The demon appeared when the power came back on and I was able to boot up the computer, and then a long phone conversation ensued with Helen in which we discussed in depth the nature of existence and our relative places in it. Her life is in a state of flux as well at the moment. And all this under electric lights, even though it was mid afternoon at the height of summer. I put the TV on to watch the F1 Grand Prix, only to find that the race being held 3,000 miles away in Montreal was being wrecked by exactly the same weather conditions we were having here. And my internet connection has been slow and inconsistent all day, no doubt due to the extremely wet conditions out there.

Bath time soon. I wonder what tomorrow will bring.
