Learning from the Lepidoptera.

Moths are drawn to lights of all sorts. The attraction is instinctive and too strong to resist. Indeed, why should they resist? Because they might get burnt to death, that’s why.

Now, I like to think that I probably have more brain power than the average moth. I can observe, and maybe even modify, my instincts. But I still have them, so the question I should like to ask the moth is this:

Which light are you most attracted to, the nearest or the brightest?

If the moth could answer me, I might learn something. It probably wouldn’t make any difference, but you never know.

Open to comments from moths and bright lights (because they probably know the answer too.)
