When a man wants to put a woman down he generally uses
simple aggression. This is soundly to be condemned, of course, but at least it
has a sort of honesty.
When a woman wants to put a man down she has several weapons
in her armoury, the commonest of which, I’ve found, is callousness. Women are
mostly very good at knowing just where the soft spot is and which grade of
rapier is best suited to pierce to the core.
Seems I can’t help being cynical at the moment.
