Taking the Middle Option.

There was a group of three seats on one side of the dentist’s waiting area. They were all empty, so I sat on the middle one. And then I began to wonder: why had I sat on the middle one?

I thought about it while I was waiting for whatever-his-name-is to finish his lunchtime pint, and I’ve thought about it quite a lot since. They say that no decision is random; even those that appear to be so have a cause hidden deep in the inner workings of the mind.

I thought of lots of possibilities, and lots of angles leading off the possibilities, and it became very complex. So I gave up.
