Fundamentals.

There’s a growing trend in Britain to prosecute people for verbally abusing others on racial grounds. I believe it comes under ‘racially aggravated assault’ legislation.

OK, I think we should apply the same logic to religion. When some Christian fundamentalist starts telling you that ‘If you’re not with us, you’re against us. If you don’t take Jesus into your life, you’re evil; you’re in league with Satan and you’re going to burn in hell, buddy!’ we should prosecute them for religiously aggravated assault.

I gather the Pope has been telling the Arab world that they must work to stamp out fundamentalism. What a strange thing for a Pope to say. What’s more fundamental than the principle of the pontiff? I assume he meant Muslim fundamentalism.
