The Bulgar Coincidence.

I’m suddenly getting a rash of visits from Bulgaria. That’s interesting, since I recently bought a Grecian urn that was made in Bulgaria. (Maybe it was a Bulgarian urn.)

It’s a coarse ceramic object in semi-matt black with a colourful abstract pattern raised in bas-relief. Makes a change from warriors in feathery helmets, armless women, and muscular men who are clearly not excited. I'm growing quite fond of it.

An unconnected aside:

The lambs at the top of the lane have reached the inquisitive stage. Several of them stood and stared at me today, giving me that why-has-it-only-got-two-legs-and-does-it-want-to-eat-us look. I'm growing quite fond of them, too.
