Getting the Image Wrong.

I was looking at a poster in a shop window today. It was a picture of a model wearing the clothes the shop was selling.

I suppose the point of such a display is to evoke an image of the ideal look, only it wasn’t any sort of ideal look because the model didn’t look real. He looked like a CGI creation.

Perfectly manicured black stubble, perfectly waved Big Hair, perfectly even teeth standing like a row of tombstones between fleshy lips, and a chin like Desperate Dan’s. I mean, who the hell would want to look like that?

I found myself feeling sorry for the poor model, and it didn’t surprise me that the shop was empty.
