how did you know her?
She was an actress at the theatre where I worked once. We kept in touch for a couple of years, and then she sent me a letter complaining that I wasn't answering her correspondence. I replied to the effect that I had answered every letter, but the only address I had for her was the theatre at which she was currently working, so I suspect they weren't being passed on. My further suspicions as to why are purely speculative.
Aha! The purloined letters...

The person I had in mind was very shifty, but I have no direct evidence.
