All Back Bar One.

You might remember that I’ve been bemoaning the near-absence of butterflies from my garden this summer, especially during the three weeks of warm sunny weather last month. Well, today they’ve suddenly arrived in great numbers. Why today? I’ve no idea, but better late than never.

And the species are nearly all present. There are Small Whites, Large Whites, Peacocks, Speckled Woods, Commas, Tortoiseshells, and cute little Gatekeepers. There’s one notable absentee, and it’s my favourite: the Red Admiral. That’s the one shown on the banner pic at the top of the blog. Maybe tomorrow, eh?
