A Big Biblical Non Sequitor.

It seems that archaeologists have discovered a fragment of an old pot near Jerusalem, probably dating to the time of Kings David and Solomon. And there's a small amount of inscription on it, over which the academics are currently arguing. Is it an early form of Hebrew, or some other language? The meaning of the inscription isn’t yet known, apparently.

So now we have the headlines:

Discovery Proves Bible History is Accurate!

What?!! It might demonstrate that people were writing things down as early as the 10th century BCE, but that’s about all.

And how long will it be, I wonder, before some bozo from the Bible Belt starts mouthing off with ‘This proves that Christianity is the only true religion.'

Yeah, right.
