Considering Beauty.

'How can you say that everything is illusion?’ asked the pupil. ‘What about that beautiful sunset which we can both see? Is that an illusion?’

‘What you need to understand,’ replied the master, ‘is that the sunset is an illusion, but the beauty is real.’

It’s evident enough that all physical manifestation of beauty decays with time, but the essence persists. I wish I knew how to find it.
