When Capitalism is Unacceptable.

I just read that an increasing number of landlords in east London are evicting tenants, sometimes illegally, in order to make properties available to let for the London Olympics – at prices 15-20 times higher than they’re normally worth. No doubt they see this as perfectly acceptable; we live in a free market economy, after all.

Edward Heath, a one-time Conservative Prime Minister, once famously used the phrase ‘the unacceptable face of capitalism.’

Quite. I wonder whether anybody is going to stop them.
