I was interested to read what President Obama said in ‘leading
the tributes’ to the late Donna Summer. I would have expected the predominant
reference to be to the people who loved her music, or maybe the fact that a
beautiful voice has gone out of the world. What he actually said – according to
the news report – was:
‘The music industry has lost a legend too soon.’
The music industry has lost...
Industry. Right.
So does this give the blatant hint as to what music is all about
in the modern world, or was it merely a poor choice of words made by a sloppy
speech writer?
