I had a visit to my blog last night from St Catharines, Ontario.
That’s a coincidence because the only person I ever knew who came from Ontario
was called Catharine.
She had mixed Scottish/German parentage, and what I found
interesting about her was that one side of her face looked Scottish, while the
other half looked German. On one occasion I got her to turn her head so I could
compare the two profiles. When I said ‘do you know that half your face looks
Scottish, and the other half looks German?’ she gave me one of those stares.
And she only ever hugged me once. When I was leaving. Hardly
surprising, really.
