By the Pricking of My Thumbs...

In the modern UK English vernacular, ‘wicked’ has come to mean ‘rather good.’

I’ve been oddly reluctant to make blog posts today. It’s been a fine, warm spring day, I got several jobs done in the garden, and I even got an e-mail telling me that my new TV should be delivered tomorrow. And then there was the correspondence with the priestess.

And yet there was something grindingly flat about it. It felt as though I was being held in the blocks – that energies were stirring unseen and about to produce some sort of ignition or breakthrough. Whether it will prove to be the calm before the storm or the dark before the dawn – or neither – remains to be seen.

Wicked is often used to mean good or cool here in the US, too. Cool as in good. Bad also sometimes means good or cool. So does sweet.

We have 'dead bad' = splendid. Although it might be passe now, having gone the way of 'mega.' Being old, I still speak rational English.

BTW, what's the new picture that's appeared on Feedjit? I clicked on it and got a message from the big F saying they were checking you out to see whether you're safe. Should I write to them and tell them you're not?

I've never used a lot of slang, but i have always said 'cool' because its a word most people my age have grown up with, having heard our parents say it, i guess. It always annoyed me in high school when a new slang word started to spread and all the other kids were saying it. It was forced and fake and only used because it was? 'trendy?' Or cool.

In my favorite movie, Ghost World, which isn't about ghosts or spirits at all, the MC Enid says something about how bad the music at her classes graduation party is and her friend Rebecca says its so bad its good to which Enid replies, "Its so bad its gone past good and back to bad again." Not really slang... but when i hear someone say that something is BAD, meaning good i always think of that scene in the movie. Actually, now that i'm thinking about it, its mostly redneck or redneckish guys that i hear using the word bad in that way. Usually saying that something is Bad Ass.

Tell them whatever you'd like :)

The url i had registered with them was the old url for my blog and i changed it to the current one so that if anyone clicks on me they'll go to my blog. It takes 1 business day for them to verify the site for saftey before they'll redirect anyone there. While i was at it i changed my user pic. I got sick of seeing the old one on your feedjit, lol.

1) Dare I admit to remembering 'groovy?' And, just in case you're wondering, I'm not as old as Paul Simon, nor as fat, and I have more hair - just. But I still think he's one hell of a singer/songwriter.

What did that have to do with anything?

2) I'm a complete dunce with all that registering business. I've always wondered how to get one's picture on Feedjit.

Yeah, you once mentioned something along the lines of Kate Bush fans being old. I'm a Kate Bush fan. I'm not old... still sort of youngish, i guess.

I like some Paul Simon.

Just go to the Feedjit site and go to your dashboard... there are some tabs to make changes to your account and one of them allows you to upload a pic to use. I just tried to spell used as yoused. I think i've had a small stroke, lol.

Do you know I'm the same age as you in my head? That's a coincidence, isn't it? I also just visited your blog at the same time you visited mine.

I tried going onto the Feedjit site and couldn't find any dashboard.
