Mixing Metaphors.

I find it interesting that we take natural phenomena and use them as diametrically opposite metaphors. ‘Cloud’ is a good example:

John’s life was sailing along just fine until that fateful day in February when the dark cloud of tragedy closed over him.

John’s whole life had been mired with misfortune until Jane swept into it, lifting him from the pit of despair and placing him on a cloud of contentment.

And then I read this:

Cognitive
Business is here.
And it’s built on
The IBM Cloud.

…and I haven’t a clue what they’re talking about. So here are some proper clouds (and sheep.)
