I dislike being busy, and by busy I don’t mean active. They’re
not the same. Active is simply the state of movement, whether mental or
physical; active is OK. Busy is a state of mind which involves a level of implied
pressure, and that pressure subdues the capacity for keen observation and extended
awareness. Observation and awareness are what I live for; they seem to form the
core of my ‘work’ in this life, and I dislike being distracted from my work by
being busy.
