First there were two young women riding bikes and wearing
shocking pink tops. Then there was another woman of indeterminate age (she was
further away) riding a horse and also wearing the same shade of shocking pink. It would appear that shocking pink is this season’s colour.
But then, just to put some sanity back into a disappearing
world, Cassie the pub dog came to greet me with the closest Cassie ever gets to
a show of unrestrained joy. (Which is actually quite restrained.) Cassie is a
peasant like me, and so has no truck with the vagaries of fashion or its colour trends. She was as
grey and scruffy as ever, and maybe she relates to kindred spirits.

A lot of pink worn around here, too, but i've heard that October is Breast Cancer Awarness Month, which is something started by the Susan G. Komen Foundation, a foundation that wears the mask of trying to cure women of breast cancer, of searching for the cure but really makes a lot of money off of breast cancer, encourages women to have regular mammograms which researchers have shown may actually cause breast cancer from the exposure, and the foundation will also file lawsuits against any other organization that aims to help women with breast cancer if they so much as use a phrase or image similar the the phrases or images they use.
An evil company. Sorry to rant about it on here. It makes me angry when i see people supporting such a foundation by wearing the pink and pink ribbons and selling the merchandise... but i also know that many people are unaware about the truth of Susan G. Komen. Maybe someone reading your blog will read this and research and boycott them as well.
Again... sorry to rant here.
Sounds like my kind of rant, P. Rant away. This sort of thing is what happens when you make healthcare an 'industry' and run it on free market principles. The free market is full of sharks and psychopaths to whom 'scruples' is a dirty word.
In the case of the three women, however, I think the explanation is probably more mundane. What they were wearing was probably some sort of high visibility outer garment. I expect somebody has decided that shocking pink stands out in dull conditions, and it does.
