In terms of political allegiance, they infect the landscape
across the spectrum, although these days they’re increasingly likely to offer
obeisance to Mr Farage’s troupe of lovable clowns. They’re one reason why I err
on the side of being a recluse and voting Green Party in general elections. To
little avail, I might add.

Brits Being Rightly Indignant.
Anybody reading this blog who is not endowed with the honour
of being able to call themselves British might be interested to know that the
breed of human represented in the following sketch is remarkably common in the
sceptered isle. Remarkably. They think, dress, decorate their homes, and talk
just like this. I’ve rubbed shoulders with countless examples during the course

That is so funny. I always wonder if such people would recognise themselves, or do they think it's never them? You'll find the German version of this if you leave Berlin :(
Unless they'd had cause to complain about being served an overpriced cheese sandwich made with French bread, brie and grapes (and probably even in Harrogate) I doubt they would.
I imagine you'd get much worse over there. I think one saving grace about Britain is that we don't get the expression of extreme right wing ideology in mainstream politics as seems to occur in the rest of Europe. We Brits have a tradition of being suspicious of extremes. Ironically, maybe Mr Farage has a point - up to a point...
